GREAT Thread Rock2Rye! And I'm thinking we need to add some multi-lingual stuff to the site...Maybe a page where people can do just what you ask in this thread..."how do you say Peace"...
What do you think?
'Cuz the thing about Peace is that we MUST say it in ALL languages...
This is great! Anyone know how to say Peace in Croation, for Clark? And it looks like I'm not even spelling that correctly...
PACE!

Well, the Germans say
der Frieden [dare FREE-den], the Russians call for
??? [mir] (tell Clark I'm pretty sure that is also the same word used by Croatians), and the Lakota Sioux want everyone to enjoy
wowahwa [WO-wa-hwa]. Make the "h" in the final syllable of that Lakota word come out of your throat, if you can. ;p

"MABUHAY"
is a Tagalog / Filipino (*Philippines) verb in the form of a command: "Live!"
It is also a wish:
"May you live!"
Whosoever says it wishes upon you the great gift of a long and full life.
It is both a blessing and a lusty cheer.
"Mabuhay" (ma-boo-high) is such a large word that it lends itself to a wide number of secondary uses:
welcome,
congratulations,
thanks,
godspeed,
hello,
good luck,
cheers,
prosit,
sante,
viva,
kambei,
aloha,
and many other expressions of goodwill.
All these are a part of life; but it is the gift of life that makes them possible.
"Mabuhay", in other words, is an invocation and a celebration of life itself.
Mabuhay ang KAPAYAPAAN!
Mabuhay ang KATAHIMIKAN!

PEACE! :]
In Dog language it's about body signals.... and not the tail wag as many would think:
Peace is approaching indirectly or turning sideways or even sitting or laying down, and may include a look away, a yawn or a lick of one's own nose.
Peace!

It would be interesting to list those places/languages where the standard greeting, when people meet ,is "Peace".
I'll start with Arabic and Hebrew:
As-Salamu ?Alaykum (?????? ?????; literally "peace be upon you"),
and
????, pronounced, "Shalom."
Such a pity that it doesn't go beyond the greeting in the Middle East, yet.
